Powder and Multiphase Flow Simulator|iGRAF

iGRAF is a powder simulation software that can be easily operated by anyone with no prior analysis experience.
By visualizing the results with iGRAF, problems such as segregation and poor mixing can be prevented.
In addition, number of tests can be greatly reduced.
iGRAF was developed by our company under the supervision of Associate Prof. Mikio Sakai of the University of Tokyo.

Problem Solver

A mathematical calculation is not adequate to understand the behavior of the particle.
Hence, simulation is preferred.


What can be achieved through iGRAF simulation,
・Behavior of particle can be traced (able to see through the process)
・Quantitative evaluation of mixing performance


For example, it helps to solve the following problems;
・Segregation
・Poor mixing
・Bridging
・Channeling



iGRAF is not limited to industries, it can be applied to various powder processes.

Improve productivity

・Prototype and experiment testing can be substituted by simulation,
 which in turn, reduces the prototype cost and material cost greatly.


・Simulation also helps to determine the best design operating condition,
 by reproducing the real process.

Visualize the process

Through iGRAF simulation, following behaviors can be examined;

User-Friendly

In order to carry out a simulation, in general

Model in CAD ➡ import file ➡ recognize the shape ➡ set analysis conditions ➡ run the simulation

With iGRAF,

Model in CAD ➡ set analysis conditions ➡ run the simulation

・Since iGRAF is a SOLIDWORKS add-in software (most widely used 3D CAD software),
 process of importing is eliminated
・The particle and fluid automatically recognizes the rigid bodies.
・Handling of model that have complex shapes and free rigid body movement
 (rotation, translation, vibration) can also be easily achieved.

Replicate the real process

・In addition to being able to analyze the powder behavior,
 iGRAF can also analyze the liquid behavior in the airflow that affects the powder.


・Earlier, due to the limitation in number of cores in the computer and usage of
 larger number of particles, powder simulation was inexecutable.


・With Coarse grain model and multi-core parallel technology,
 it has become possible to replicate the real process through iGRAF simulation.

Functions

iGRAF can reproduce complex powder behavior, fluid behavior,
and even complex interaction between powder and fluid.

Application Field

iGRAF is applicable to various powder processes regardless of industry.
